i have a 2004 pro x 800. its got an slp single&can, slp airbox kit, 600 ves springs, 192 studs and clutched. Sled is a real strong runner but i want more especially for runs on big moose lake. i am only 16 so i dont have big bucks for big bores, etc. I am in the process of sending the cdi to hot seat to bump up the timing and have the det removed, going to order v force 3's and grind them, and possibly bore the carbs to 42mm. I think i want to do nitrous this coming season. I want a setup that gives me some horsepower though. I see boondockers is only like 20hp or so i think i want to be in the 40-60hp range. I have seen that holley has a kit, boss has a kit. I am wondering what is the best kit to go with and what is an acceptable horsepower range to shoot for on stock internals? Only 1800 miles on the sled, it has great compression so i am not worried about the condition of it right now. But what would you guys do as far as nitrous? Need some ideas. Any other useful mods you guys could think of?

if you are gonna install nitrous...put in some heavier weights..prolly 4-6g over stock because you will increase your rpms with the boost. It will pull extra hard down low unless you bog too...

you want more HP ,add bigger nozzles ,more flow, clutch for off the juice HP,and over rev a little when on it,the bottle only lasts so long ,

Fast Rider, i've read you clutch so when u hit the nos you over rev... Something about because the torque jumps up like crazy too... So clutching won't be changed... I guess about a 500rpm jump is expected, Iv've also heard good things about the boss noss. Check out snowest.com for more info, the mountain guys love the nos...

I've used Boondockers Nitrous on many sleds with great success.
I have found that I can just allow the motor to over rev 400-500 rpm and still pick up nice power. If you only use it onl the lake for example, then clutch about 100-200 rpm lower than normal, just slightly heavier for best results.
Hope this helps you out.

whats better the boss noss or the boondockers. i would think the boss noss because no wiring and it seems like very straight forward installation. I would probably go with the dual 50HP nozzles. Is 50hp enough? when i hit the button is it gonna start haulin or is it gonna be barely noticeable? also anyone know who has the best trail/lake porting? or is porting worthless on this sled? just trying to keep all of my options open.
