Hey guy's, I'm a new user here. I bought a 1990 Prowler just after winter, it runs great, has a new engine in it, and I want to keep it running good. Should I fog it, or should I not fog it? I've hurd the fogging will dry up seals and rings? I also hurd that if I don't fog it moisture will enter engine parts, and cause rust?
Could you give me some advise
Thanks
Bullet

#1 drain gas tank to 1/4 tank put in 1 pint of whatever oil you are using also at this time add fuel stabiliser per directions.
#2 run sled til smokey.

Fog with using the oil you put in the oil tank, that will keep your seals from drying out and keep the inside from rusting. Covering the sled might hold in the moisture, be carefull.

I've always just started my sled every month or so. I use fuel stabilizer in the tank. That's it.

Unless you're storing your sled in a greenhouse, or for extended periods of time (years), I feel fogging is a waste of time.
The residual oil left when you shut down your engine is plenty to keep things from turning to shit in the off season.
Stabil, grease, springs on lowest setting, and put it in the back of the garage until fall.

I'm with these guys, I never fog, just start the sled once a month, so far no trouble. (30 years):div20:

I just run the gas out of the carbs, grease all the zerks and put WD-40 on the shocks, etc. I always store inside in a cool, dry area. Sometimes I'll put some sta-bil or sea foam in the gas but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I always store it with less than a quarter tank of gas and put in fresh gas before I start it in the fall. No problems ever in all the years I've been snowmobiling. The worst thing you can do is store outside or anywhere moisture can accumulate on the sled. Moisture and UV rays are the biggest enemies of your sled.

Here's what I do...
1.) Drain gas tank down to 1/4, & stabilzer to the gas & run it for about 5 minuts.
2.) Fog Engine
3.) Drain Gas from Tank
4.) Drain Gas from Carbs
I do everything I can.... It's cheap insurance & sure beats rebuilding or replacing an engine because you got some moisture in it!
