Heard he has been unhappy for qite some time that is why Tuckers sled in the 2005 Winter X games never had any Artic Cat markings on it. Don't know any more details. Artic Cat is nuts to let this legend go.

Kirk does the setup for Tucker so unlikely he will have anthing to do with Artic Cat. Does anyone know the details as to why this is happening?

he is his own person living his life the way he want's, that should be something we can all understand, they have done a great job keeping there differances quiet, and it's best left alone.

Cap'n Kirk has really been an asset to AC for sure. Good for both I guess. I thought it was weird that Tucker's sled didn't say CAt on it anywhere, yet Cat was bragging about his finish in there ads. Weird.
I met Tucker a couple times, class act. Definitely has what the old man had for sure. Hate to see Kirk go, but I'm sure they got lots of notes!
Best of luck!

im a little dumb i ll admit this is the guy who only races sleds at the x games? if so during the x games it was said he wsa only racing sleds at the x games that he wanted to pursue a moto cross career something about the snowmobile career being handed to him by his father and wanting his own deal? as far as cat bragging about his race it might not say cat but there was no doubt it was a cat so basically by him riding it they get all the benefits of a pro class rider with out paying him seems like a win win for cat if i was him id work out some money for riding cat in the games since hes going to ride it with no affliation anyway

Is Arctic Cat really that nuts??? Money and "fame" can get to people...

If he was really pissed at Arctic Cat he would have been on a REV, plain and simple. I would assume that Monster paid a lot of money to be the exclusive sponsor of a racer they knew would be highlighted in every race he participated in.
Is it Kirk who is leaving or just Tucker?

Well i talked to some friends who are in racing(espeseth racing). He talks to tucker every so often. the reason he didnt run any arctic cat decals on his monster sled was this: he wanted to run stud boy decals and arctic cat uses woodys. they told tucker to take them off and he refused so he ran all monster decals. he was ganna get 50G's from monster either way. so instead of dropping stud boy he toke off all the arctic labels.

Just read that Kirk Hibbert will have a session on the 06 sno pro at race school at the end of Oct. Read it on Cat's website under the racing section.
You can put this rumor to rest.

to further enlighten some here, Brian Sturgeon is the one who has left cat, not Hibbert, no idea yet on what he's gonna do or where, have to wait and see,,,,,,,

Sturgeon is the one that built Cat back into its former glory when he raced the EXT Special in 89/90

Aug 23 2005, 06:28 AM
he didn't build them back to nothing, it really came together when hibbert won the 91 or 92 i500 cross country race, then the "glory" was reborn(not that it'd gone anywhere in the meantime :frech32: ) sturgeon had/has a big ego, thinks he's "mister big shot" :lol2: :lol2: :smilielol:

Hibbert is the father of the ZR.If the ZR never became reality Cat would never be where they are today. As far as Brian goes,I thought Brian was with Black Magic not with Cat directly.

UPDATE: Sturgeon was fired(not gonna discuss why, let's just say cat got their justice against him though :div20: ), and it look's like Hibbert indeed may go on the trail(motocrossing) with Tucker, that SUCKS!!!!!!! :face_crash:

Could that explain why Cat has flatered in the past 3-4 seasons in SnoX
They were dominate with the ZR chassis but the F chassis changed that and of course the Rev and IQ Racer did not help

Sturgeon is forever immortalized in my mind in late 80's Cat poster sitting on an old wildcat sporting the sweetest mullet man has ever witnessed.

sorry to break the news to you guys, but hibbert wasnt behind the ZR chassis, but suffice to say the R was for racing and Z was the last name inital of the man that designed it.
As for Brian Sturgeon, all he did was crash into a haybail after winning. His atitude was bigger than the state of MN, and other than the signing of morgan and Tucker (which I dont think he had anyting to do with) his reign at the race department has done nothing good for the company or racers.
Last I knew there was only 1 or 2 semi pro/pro racers running Cats in the east, and no one could get any decient support from Sturgeon.
