how is the 660 with slp twins for trail riding? ive read that twins arent the pipes if u do trail riding but i have seen them on lots of trail sleds..
Indyhead
Geared right and clutched right 660's work great with twin pipes. If your trails you normally are really tight, twisty and narrow then you may want to consider a single. Our 660 kit is so designed that low end is very snappy so personally I wouldnt worry a bit about losing a little low end torque like twin pipes typically do. What yr. is your sled? We have some customers running twin pipes on our 660's and sounds like they got their setups pretty spot on.

I've made plenty of posts regarding my Indyhead 660 with SLP twins. It has plenty of torque for the trail. From the independent dynos I've seen the SLP twins are worth about 10hp on a 660.

How much gain is there in the 660 kit over the 600..?

Is it really a threat to an 800 >>??
ProX2man600
the trails around here are twisty ounce in awhile and some are corn fields and such...my sleds a 2004 prox2 600....and i think carls has a deal going on right now on there 660's...and wat do u recomend for gearing with the 660...we can figure out clutching bc we have a track dyno..i really wanna run twins for the look and i want the sound and performence!

A 660 will easily beat a stock 800. I would outrun my buds modded ProX8 every time we lined 'em up...about 5-6 sled lengths by 100mph.

ProXman-

As for gearing, everyone likes something different and their riding styles are too. I'm running 23/40 and like it. I'll try something steeper next year. And as I'm sure your dad knows, just because you get good numbers on your track dyno, doesnt mean that clutch setup will perform well in the field.

thats very true..and we found that out on the 440 race sled we sponcer..my dad will be buying a radar setup in the near future..so we can relate the dyno numbers and see wat works best in a real life situation!
