Thought I'd share some pictures from yesterday, April 16/2005. It was a beautiful day for a Run to the Lewis Hills! Unless something drastic happens, there should be another couple of good weeks left yet. Some transporting by truck may be necessary, but definitely worth it...

^First stop of the Day - Smokers Hill.

^Lots of sleds heading into the Hills!

^It was quite windy when we got into the hills - so Todd found us this "little" crevice that offered some shelter.

^Another...

^The surrounding Terrain...

^Snow drifting off the top of our crevice...

^Snow drifting off the rim of Rope Cove Canyon. Conditions in the hills still offer powder.

^Looking towards the Port au Port Penninsula - and the Gulf of St. Lawrence (Atlantic Ocean)..

^Another view of the Penninsula...

^A scenic pic of Molly Ann Gorge (Atlantic Ocean in background).

^Another of Molly Ann...

^The North Face of Molly Ann...

^DON'T DOO IT GRANT !! You can ride a Cat on the way out !! Step away from the edge slooowly...

^Long way to the bottom...

^Highest Point of Elevation in Newfoundland - 2672 feet. I guess thats not really that impressive to some of you Western guys...

^The Camel Jockeys crossing the White Desert.

^Homeward bound...

^One last pic...

Was a beautiful day! 10*C, blue sky, everything was great. It would have been great to have the trail into the hills a bit smoother - but overall just pleased with such a great day so late in the season!!

Great pictures ! I am jealous. I was out working in the yard today, in 75 degree temps, snow is long gone.
