I'm heading up for one last ride and was thinking of unloading around the Berthierville area. I've never unloaded that far South before but the last time I was up there that area had tons of snow. Does anyone know if they are still grooming in that area or if the trails are at least decent. I'm trying to shorten my drive time but I will unload further North if it looks crappy in Berthierville. I might even unload near Sherbrooke/Cowansville if it's better over there.

Any help is appreciated!

Yeah, I figured around the city of Sherbrooke was thin but I wasn't sure of the outer areas. Looks like I'll head toward the Shawinigan area to unload. Thanks for the heads up.

Anyone else?

Tuesday night we were headed to Quebec for three days of riding when in the 'eleventh hour' I talked to the lady at LaGlaciere who speaks very good English. She told me that Spring had arrived and the trails were shot. We missed it by a week. LaGlaciere's telephone number 1-450-884-5565.

We just got back on wed. 3-23-05 and we put on 825 miles monday and tuesday
we unloaded in Riviere de loop seems that some of the area was getting soft but
most of the area was still a eight grooming was still going on there.

Well....I'll add a pic to see if it works. Just got back. We unloaded in Berthierville and headed up to St.Zenon. All I can say is WOW!!!! Glad I took a chance! gardner17756, I don't know who you talked to at La Glaciere, but they are high. I realize they are closed for the season but the trails were absolutely fantastic. Anything North of St Gabriel to St. Zenon was a 9. I would say there is 2-3 feet of snow on the ground. We did 130 miles today and 100 of those miles were freashly groomed last night. I usually avoid the St. Zenon area like the plague because of the traffic but I saw maybe 5 sleds all day. If it stays cold, I would say next weekend will be good. Berthierville was a bit crappy for about 10 miles but anything North of there on 45/3 is good with the occational muddy corner. 63, 345, 350, 318 and 343 was beautiful. Somebody please ride these trails. Seems like a waste.

Nice pictures Stupe. I guess I need to eat some "crow" on this one. A few of my friends who have more Quebec experience told me that we should have went. Your pictures confirm that. A nine hour drive and the cost of registering three sleds caused me to be gun shy. Fortunately, North Central PA received 8" of fresh snow on Wednesday and we were able to ride 270 miles on Thursday and Friday.

It kind of bothers me that La Glacier would tell you the season is done. If I remember correctly, the groomed trail goes though their parking lot. Bad info. Anyway, a nine hour drive and the cost of passes would of scared me away too. Especially not knowing what to expect. I already had the passes and the drive time was 3 1/2 hours, so my decision was easier. Less risk anyways.
