i went and looked at one the other night at a local yamy show. I think it will work for what it is intended for. You sit pretty aggresively on this machine. it felt light when i lifted it up.. It was not what i expected. It's set up to ride hard. I didn't get to ride it obviously, but if you go to totallyamaha.com you will can read some of the reports from those who did. NOTHING negative about it so far. In fact everyone who rode it liked it alot..
some comments are, it's not for long distance riding. It's a true ditch banger. It's also geared lower for great lower end but will suffer at the high end. about 90 mph is top speed.

Thanks for the info. I had snow checked one about 2 weeks ago, and was starting to think I should have got something different since I dont hear many people talking about them.

Semi has got it right. I rode it about a month ago and it was cool definately geared different and not going to be a lake racer but should be a blast through the trails, you will need to use the power different if you are coming off a two stroke. Much more linear powerband pulls right to the top. Good luck and have fun!

I was riding a 03 legend so I'm sure it will be different. How was the handling on the trails?

They are right about the powerband. Its so smooth and linear that you cant even compare it to any 2-stroke.
The engine braking is something else too. You can ride one of these Yamaha 4-strokes so much deeper into a corner than you can any 2-stroke because of the engine braking.
TY4stroke.com is a great resource for more information. The people on there are very helpfull and knowledgable.

My dads just got a new nytro and let just say it is one of the crazyest sleds i have ever riden or set eyes on. after riding it i have no clue why anyone would ever buy a 2 stroke again, the thing exceletrates sooo fucking fast and handles sooooo god damn crazy and aggresive, defiently one of the sickest sleds this year by far
