I have a 9 year old Brittany named "Shelby". She's a way better bird dog than I am a bird hunter. We mainly hunt pheasant and sometimes rabbits.

Me and my uncle do alot of coon hunting. Our kick-ass coon dog is now 13 years old, and can't hunt worth a shit anymore, so in fall we picked up 2 more walker pups that will hopefully treat us as well as the big boy did.
In june im gonna be driving to New York to pick up my Wire Haired Dachsund, bred for tracking deer, from John and Jolanta Jeanneny. (www.born-to-track.com)

My girl Emma. She's an English Springer Spaniel, and is the fear of northern Wisconsin Ruffed Grouse... She's just retrieved one that my dad shot in the picture. Ahh, life is good... :div20:

I have a wire haired pointing griffon too young to hunt her this year...I miss my German short-hair but had to put him down not too long ago. That dog would hunt til he dropped, rest 5 minutes and be ready to go again...When it was time to go or if I missed a bird hed just give me a disgusted look and lay down facing the opposite direction!

When we are duck hunting, Sadie does the same thing. She will watch the ducks with excitement as they fly in. When I miss she looks at me and then stares straight ahead. If I miss too many and other parties are knocking down ducks, she gets a whiny pout going until I tell her "Quiet." It's a riot to watch!

I have an American Water Spaniel, Sage. Awesome upland dog and water. Sage needs more work on water work but would go without her. Mother-in-law breeds them so I kinda didn't have much of a choice but am sure glad I have her and can't wait to get another.

I got her from a breeder in arkansas...It was expensive by the time I bought the dog, flew her up etc...Shes a great dog though I think shes gonna work out well...But Im weird with my dogs, they are pets and companions first and if they turn out to be good hunters thats an added benefit. Ive had her out with training dummies and stuff and shes not gun shy at all.

Just got a VISH myself. The wife had one when she was a kid so we got one for her. I never intended on making it a hunting dog but I have been told at my hunt clubs that these are great dogs just not popular around Michigan here. Heck there was only 1 Breeder in the state. I had to make a trip to pick this one up. Will be looking for another soon. Pointing at 9-10 weeks and holding on grouse by 12 weeks. Flushes on comand and stayes close. will be 21 weeks old now. Great family dog and very clean. Loves the water (AUSABLE- CHAPEL) and definately not gun shy.

Mine has been a great dog , he is a good hunter and lives in the house with us . I've kept waiting for him to calm down as he got older but it hasen't happend yet . When I got mine there were about six diff breeders that I knew of . They really are great dogs but they are not built "hair wise" to withstand a MI winter outside. That's about the only reason I can tink of that they are not more popular around here
