i have an 03 ZR900 i would like the mountain cat 1M low altitude CDI for it but they are kind of expensive.does anyone know of a place that can reprogram the one i have?

I doubt there's anyone that does it. I don't think cat gives out the info needed. I wanted to repgrogram my CDI on my atv, but couldn't find the schematics. People finally started making them for atv's. To make your own, you'd have to test the ignition system with an o-scope and figure out your exact timing. CDI's circuits are just basically a variable timing circuit. Best bet would be to buy the one you want.

it costs about 500 bucks for the 1M box,for the couple horsepower they pick up i'm not sure it's worth it.

tomcat,

Be cautious with the mountian CDI at sea level. There were a few guys last year on amsnow that tried them and commented about a hot spot in the mid range at low altitudes.
