A friend and I are thinking of Icefishing Labador next year,2006. I know we need a guide. We have a friend that has a lodge about 200 miles out of Labrador City, just past Churchill Falls. Have a lot questions. Do you use live bait, best month, how much ice, do you jig or use tip ups, and we want to spend some time sledding. We heard that they keep a trail open all the way to Goose Bay where you are. dunno.gif

My friend knows a group of people that are all part owners in a lodge in Labrador. All these people live in Maine. They run it as a fishing and caribou hunting camp. They use local people for guides. It is on the side of the road on the way to Happy Goose Bay (it sounds like it's the only road) about 200 miles out of Labrador City just past Churchill Falls or maybe Twin Falls. They said that Labrador now grooms a sled trail all the way from Labrador City to Goose Bay and they now do icefishing and winter caribou hunts.
