Rob says conditions are great to the north, DT says they are great to the south and I am here to tell you conditions are perfect in the center of the state.
Barre, Williamstown, Northfield, Waitsfield/Fayston, the Hump, Duxbury, the Hump again,Waterbury, Mt. Mansfield SP, Moscow, Stowe, Morrisville, Elmore, Hardwick and back to Barre. Perfect, PERFECT trails everywhere but down the hill to the Waterbury suspension bridge, that has not been groomed for quite some time from the last camp down. The groomer goes around the camp and back up 100.
Even the road travel through Stowe Hollow wasn't that bad because the road crews have been "winging" the roads creating sidewalks to ride on. It is melting though and slushy and brown in many areas.
We were flagged down by two people on identical Polaris sleds and wearing identical red jackets as we hit the bad section down to the suspension bridge, thought they were cops but they were Buzz and Betty Eastman riding the same route opposite direction. We were both able to assure ourselves that conditons improved beyond this point. When he's not grooming he's riding and checking the other groomers trails.
You have to ride now!!!!!!!!!!!
