Went to bed and got up early. Arrived at the Heartswellvile parking area fpr Woodford at 6am. Headed out 9 and up 7N. Took the Glastenbury Loop. The trails were sweet all the way. Saw a cow moose and her yearling tried to get a photo. Banged a left up Airport road. Nice conditions for this trail. Got to Kelly's Stand and guess what? fresh groomed!! Hooked a left to Arlington and hit the side trails to make some first tracks. Back up towards Jenks, 65 miles at 8am. Headed up 7 towards Tabor and points north. Tabor trails were good to excellent. Found some nice trails towards Weston but turned around when the road riding looked too long. Headed up to Belmont for breakfast and fuel. 9:45 110 miles. On toward Ludlow via 127. Real nice conditions all the way. Took 127A flatter than a pancake but the road riding was pure mud, the ol' SXR hardly knew the difference! Headed up 12 to 4 to 12 and the trails were a 10 everywhere. Got to Bridgewater and found the gas station closed, no problem, headed back to Belmont. Continued south, took some really nice side trails on Tabor, even put on some fresh tracks at 2PM, doesn't get any better. Back thru Woodford, took the Dead Horse trail shortcut for the first time in 7 years and it was the first time I ever saw it groomed! Looped back north cause 7 was so nice. Back to airport road, it didn't seem much worse than it was in the am. The Glastenbury Loop was still near perfect and some of the connecting trails were showing dirt but no too bad. South of Vermont Route 9 the trails were still perfect. Got back to the rig at 4:19, 291 miles and feeling great! Looks like my last ride of the season. Thanks to all those that posted their rides and reports throughout the year, it really helps making a decision on where to go and what to expect. Sorry for my typos and poor spelling. Time to get going on the two wheelers now. DT
