Just a heads up for people heading up towards the Hill. Dropped off at the EZ Mart in C-ville. The trail from the parking lot to smith road was in bad shap this morning and terriable shape this after noon, mostly slush and mud. We took the long way to Timber View from there. Smith Rd, Plumber Rd, North road all in great shape. Awsome shape in the Souther Tug Hill Club trails past the Sportsmans down the old railroad bed trail. There are a few roads that you have to ride down this side, not too far, but it is mostly mud/water/slush on the side of the road. Heading towards flat rock trails had mud spots and water. Towards Cedar Pines looked good. Pretty good towards Timberview until you get close, the trail is real thin, some bare spots.

Over all, I'd say this weekend there will still be some decent riding but the thin trails are probably going to open up to mud. I can't see being able to ride from the EZ Mart this weekend, it will be a mud bath. Good last ride of the season on the trails systems.

Id advise against dropping Redfield as well. When we rode through there yesterday, it wsa getting pretty cruddy...Once you get past the Redfield/florence split it gets better but before that....yikes...

You will be lucky if you can get out of Redfield. You definatly will beat the snot out of your sled if you drop in Parish. Keep driving north young Grasshopper!!!

Tug Hill, Friday, March 18, 2005 – The Last Hoorah!

At 9:00 AM we unloaded at Boylston. The trails there were SWEEEET! Smooth as glass. Headed South through Osceola and over towards West Leyden, then up to High Market. The trails were 10 out of 10. Eventually we did come across 1 whooped-out trail. This is where a Polaris, in our group, broke the rear trailing arm bolt. Snapped right off. Now it truly was a trailing arm. Fortunately, we weren’t too far from the Timberview, so we headed over to their Polaris Shop.

While we downed some HUGE Timberview Burgers, the shop worked on the Polaris. While still waiting for the Polaris, the REV riders made a quick trip over to the Gorge. As soon as we got there, my phone rang. The Polaris was fixed. Perfect timing. We headed back to Timberview, met up with the Polaris riders, and we were off. Most of the trails were getting pretty hammered by now, but the REV riders didn’t care. The trails going into and out of C’Ville were starting to show some dirt.

We stopped at the Milk Plant in Leyden, then headed South. The trails maintained by the TC Riders were spectacular, flat as a pancake, and this was in the late afternoon. Made our way over to the Hayloft for fuel and a drink. Neat place. We helped them move their pool table and they gave us a drink on the house. Nice. Shortly thereafter, the same Polaris bent a skag. Some trail side repairs, and we were off again. Then it was back to Boylston. The trails there were still MINT!

Finished up at about 8:00 PM. 180 miles. Great ride. Glad I went, as after Friday (yesterday), Tug Hill will be shot.

Over 1,500 miles for the season. All within 2 hours of my house.

This is what the trail heading out of C'Ville looked at 11am or so yesterday, it was just a little more than dirt. I think I might have passed you guys doing that repair, where you stopped near a road intersection?

Just after dark, near a road, with a Polaris XLT up on it's side.

By doing a little dodging, one could avoid most of the dirt.
