make sure you anchor that can down good or it will melt your belly pan.

gut airbox, install slp intake, flowrights, jet to 450 to be safe.

450 is very safe, more then a few of us are running 440~430 mains with the slp pipe. Dont expect huge gains it only about 7 hp over stock once you get it jetted . Twin pipes are the way to go for top end...... single pipes work great under most conditions, even deep snow! twins tend to be more tune sensitive but make more power....

If you're looking for more top end you will be dissapointed.
This pipe will give you more midrange HP and a harder hit and be very responsive though, it just doesn't make significantly more top end HP.
You must jet it "well" or it won't make any more power than stock. 450 will probably be ok if you use flow rights although maybe still a bit rich.
430 with the stock box is about right, 440 if it's below 0F.
430 for sure if you use the gutted box, it runs richer with this setup...yeah richer!
Any more than 2 mains richer than this and it is lazier than stock. You'll see a dramatic difference when working your way leaner with jetting. DO NOT raise the needle, leave it in the middle position or you will be collecting aluminum ashtrays.
Have no experience with the heelclickers.
I ran 66 Poo weights and 150/310 spring with great results.
This pipe likes to be hot and loves heavy primary clutching. Should run er @ 8000/8100 when the pipe is hot.
If you can't pull the 66's you're probably to rich.

Terez is right on the money!
I should know.........I'm running his pipe...sorry bro!
I run 430's on the trail and currently running 420's for 660!
I also have a gutted box with flowrites.

Hey guys, does the intake get load when you install the flowrites? Also hows the throttle response? Could you tweak out any issues? Jay.

It will take a little tuneing to get the trottle responce really good , air bleads and idle mixture adjustments but thats it! mine is like a hair trigger, hit the fliper and hold on.... instant 7000 RPMs plus!, run the set up the guys are saying it works! gutted box 440 mains, tempaflow and forget it!

You MUST jet to YOUR motor!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERY motor is different. Don't be cheap with a $1600 motor. Go buy enough jets to properly tune your motor. If you are running the stock airbox, you should be safe starting with the factory jets and working from there. If you have "gutted" the airbox, you should find 480's real rich, and it should run good with 460's fine tuning from there to get proper wash and plug read. You might end up with 410's or you might end up with 450's. Read your motor...not seize it.

Agree with Needs... start rich and work down. Read your own motor. Mains are cheap.
Remember to check your plugs and pistons with some mid range checks.
IMO the needle setting is as important as the mains.
I am currently at 450 mains , stock needle ( 3 position)
I am not using Tempa and my airbox is stock. ( for now)
12 mpg..
Pulled a 103.5 mph Sunday on gps. So I am not sure theres a whole lot to be gained by going smaller on mains.
