I have a 95 STX that has the carbs bored, ported, cut rotary plate, fatty pipe, 155psi a hole and a dyno can. I do not think clutch kit makes a difference here. Engagement is at 4900 rpm and very smoth.

Ok the mag side jet is supposed to be 1 size larger. But when the wife rides the sled it will look rich and eventually foull. But when I ride the sled it looks good. Carboard brown. Am I missing something here. I am a little leary about dropping a jet size just because of what I have mentioned.

I know, tell the wife to open it up. But that will not happen.

Should I try a jet size smaller??? Just scared about that white looking plug, and or a burn down, plugs are cheaper.

Your richness is on the needle, not the main jet. Check the float heights, and needle valves. Often with a rotary valve change the stagger needed changes, sometimes no need to stagger anymore, sometimes the opposite cyl needs the bigger jet. Also check the carb sync, both slides opening at the same time and the same rate.
