hey I was just out on my 81 Citation yesterday, finally got her running right! Just need to split the airbox, clean it out, put a new intake grommet on and add the fuel shutoff valve - but it is useable as is without the airbox for now. I had a blast on that thing! After doing the RAP tour last weekend I wasn't in the mood to throw a leg over the MXZ, but I was in the garage on Friday and the little Citation called out to me...so three primes and one pull and off we went. The wife even took it for a spin on the lake, came back all smiles. What a hoot! Even busted the snow bank at the end of the driveway with it. The little doo that could...It's really refreshing to be able to pick up the back end and throw it around with one hand, just a fun little machine! I took a picture of her, I'll post it next chance I get.

they are fun..very reliable machine right now though mine is running well but she isnt hooking up good enough like she was last year a little yammi et 340 beets my 377 bored to 400 :banghead: i am trying to figure out whats rong but havnt found out

O ya have you put the dual cabrs on it yet or is it still single they are gas guzzlers with the 2 carbs hooked up just like mine
gaiter
not sure if you're asking me or 93polaris, but mine is single carb. I haven't run it enough to really know if it is a guzzler or not. I can tell you it went through the first tank really quick, there was a cracked T fitting in the gas line and it pissed most of the tank on the garage floor, I replaced the T, but am still going to put a shut-off valve in it to prevent further leaks...

Those older yamahas are fast i had a 82 et 300 pulled 72mph and would eat new indy 340s all day, just cause it doesnt have the displacement doesnt mean its always going to loose
killer
Had my 86 Jag 440 out last weekend, has over 4000 miles and nothing ever done to the engine. We've probably only cleaned the carbs a few times in its lifetime. Starts first pull, and will hit 60mph no problem, used to hit 75 in its hayday. They just don't make em like that anymore, but I would hate to take it out on the trail for the sake of my back.

I think that Jag Z is one of the nicest looking sleds ever made, way ahead of its time. Way nicer than the late 90s jags.
cheers
