I'm wondering if there is a cheaper alternative oil to use than the "Arctic Cat APV Oil"?
Thanks.

Amsoil or Klotz is what I prefer

Why is it you find the AMSoil better? Is it better for the machine? What exact kind do you buy?

Amsoil burns very clean. I use the interceptor oil.

I use Ipone. Been the best i've tried, perfer it over the above mentioned oils as well. You basically never have to clean your valves, smells like strawberries, is biodegradable. Of course its 100% synth. and runs under $30 a gallon. Its what Blair Morgan uses.

Ipone oil rocks !! Power valves just wipe clean after 2000 miles !!! And your buddy behind you doesn't die of toxic fumes.

With my F7 I use the Yamalube 2-s very good oil burns nice and its price fits in my budget. I have used this oil in other two strokes and have yet to have any problems with it.

RATS! I just ran out of Purple Powerlube! LOL. Just one point for my Nunavet buddy who did the original post. You need an oil with good pour ability (stays fluid in extreme cold) instead of coming out like the blob. I know IPONE has good pouring qualitys. Also your oil pump must be able to pump the oil freely as well so this is an important point.

Damn old post back from the dead. I'm still running Ipone, we run it in all the sleds from my F6 to a Hooper 1035 w/jaws twins. No compression loss, no carbon buildup, stuff is just fantastic. I have 3300 miles on my F6 and have yet to clean a valve, popped em out to look but no need to clean. Getting more pricey but so isn't everything else, well worth the added expense imho.

I would stay away from the klotz. It really seems to gum up the power valves with heavy residue.

Ipone Samurai is what we have been using for about 3 years now and we tear down the motors a couple times every year and we have found it to be very good oil.

KLOTZ Techniplate here. Been using it since 2000 and never had 1 lick of a problem with exhaust valves. First started using it with my MachZ...fantastic stuff. Other riders in my group switched over to it since they would rather ride behind me than the other guys who don't use it. Smells good and low smoke. Pour point, lubricity and shear strength is supposed to be top dog. I just poured it at 25 below zero in northern Maine this past weekend...Not a problem and no blobs...poured nice and smooth. Oh and I can get it for 26/gallon.
