Anyone have or heard of the outer lugs of the 14 inch track losing the lugs. I am not talking about a stud pulling through, I am talking about the lugs tearing off the track. Went riding with an F-7 SnoPro and a Fusion on a 50 mile river/lake run with 4 inches of snow and Polaris is claiming there is no defect with this track. 80 percent of the outside lugs are gone!!! None of the other sleds had a problem. Anyone experience this?? Wondering if this is another gas tank neck issue with Polaris!!! Not real happy with their bumper to bumper one year warranty. Bought the sled as a left over. Just got 800 miles on it.
Of course speaking with the customer service section they make it sound like I was grass dragging this thing. Can not speak to anyone who knows anything. She tells me I need to go back to the dealer and b!@#$%. Nice way to keep a relationship with the dealer!!
Not real happy with Polaris right now!! 1st ride gas cap comes off in my hand, second ride, headlight quits, third ride handwarmer shorts and fouls plugs as fast as I put them in, 4th ride belts are blowing like popcorn and the windshield tabs break off for no reason, 5th ride track comes apart. Might not be a sixth ride - on a Polaris. Did I mention spending 800 dollars to get this thing to break 100!! :banghead: :banghead:
I am done.

that particular track is made of a real soft compound, do you have it studded? if so how many

Tracks - I have had good luck and bad luck. In the past 10 years Polaris has fully replaced one and paid for 1/2 of one. I guess if I had to get a new track I would be headed to ebay or watch classifieds here.

I have 168 of the 1.450 Woody's Gold Diggers. I think I know why you are asking. Because if there was no studs there would be excessive track spin and then the heat build up possibly would cause separation. This thing hooks and goes so there is no more track spin than normal.
Polaris claimed there was more studs down the middle of the track and that is why the center lugs did not fall off. I have never heard of this ever happening. Maybe one or two that catches a rock but nothing like this.

the 1" 5/8 is alot stiffer compound than the 1" 3/8, if i were you if they remberse you any $ buy a ripsaw and stud that the ripsaw prolly hooks better anyway cuz the lugs dont flex as much.

I went through two of these tracks on my 2004 Pro XR 800,the first Polaris didn't cover under warranty cause I studded the track, they won't give warranty if u stud the track. The reason being is in 2002 Polaris replaced alot of tracks that were a bad compound from the factory which Camoplast made and cost both companies alot in 2002, so in turn there alot tougher on there warranties regarding tracks, espeacially with studs.I just got back from a trip last week and put on 700 kms on a brand new 1.375x121x14 with no studs. The track delaminated all the lugs on the left side, this is my second 14" track and my last one.I have a 1.25x121x15 Ripsaw coming under warranty. The reason why there delaminating is cause there so thin and light.I'd advise u to get a 1.25" Ripsaw.

Outside lugs on my 1" 3/8 are ripping out. I'm going to replace with a ripsaw this summer and stud it though. 144 down the middle? Anyways, too much trackspin as it is now, need more traction and less track ruining. 1.375 is good in the deep stuff tho........

the Camoplast Hill-cross / Hybrid track is a great replacement. the snowcross 1 3/8" tracks were not meant for high speed and most fail when trail riding. the 1 1/2" paddle/finger hybrid is a tough track. several buddies run them and could not be happier. they hook very hard and hold up to a beating.

AND WHAT DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT ME SPENDING 800 DOLLARS TO BREAK 100 MPH. I HAVE ENOUGH SPRINGS AND GEARS TO START A PERFORMANCE SHOP OF MY OWN. I APOLOGIZE FOR THE POLARIS BASH OF THIS POST WHEN MY TRACK CAME APART. I HAVE FOUR POLARIS'S IN THE GARAGE AND FEEL I GOT SHORT CHANGED ON THIS ONE. ANYWAY THE NEW TRACK IS ON (500 DOLLARS LATER)AND I GOT AN SLP SINGLE IN THE GARAGE GOING ON THIS WEEK.
WHEN THE 1 3/8 TRACK BLEW I WAS SEEING 119 MPH ON THE SPEEDO. THAT WAS STOCK PIPE WITH EPI CLUTCH PACKAGE and Pockets suggestion on the suspension. I AM NOW PUTTING BOTH SLP ENGINE MOUNTS ON THIS THING BECAUSE THE BELTS WILL NOT HOLD. 74 GRMS IN THE PRIMARY ARE TEARING THIS THING APART. I HOPE IT IS CLUTCH ALIGNMENT BECAUSE IT IS FINALLY FLYING ON TOP END. I BLEW TWO BELTS NOW THOUGH AT OVER 110 MPH RADAR AND CAN NOT AFFORD ANOTHER. NOT THAT I CAN NOT AFFORD THE BELT BUT OBVIOUSLY THE ENGINE TAKES A TOLL WHEN THIS HAPPENS. R'S ROCKET AND LITTLE LUBRICATION WHEN THE !@#$ GETS SCARED OUT OF YOU!!! THANKS POCKETS FOR THE SUSPENSION ADJUSTMENTS. BROUGHT THE TRACK DOWN TO THE ICE AND WAS FINALLY PUTTING THE HORSEPOWER TO THE ICE. UNFORTUNATELY THAT IS WHAT TOOK THE TRACK OUT. I COULD CORNER 30 MPH FASTER THAN ANYBODY I WAS RIDING WITH ON THE RIVER. BOTTOM LINE IS THE 1 3/8 TRACK WAS NOT MY RIDING STYLE. FAST RIVER AND TRAIL CONDITIONS IS NOT WHAT THAT TRACK WAS MADE FOR. I NOW WENT WITH A .91 LUG OFF THE OLD 800 XCR SO WILL SEE WHAT WE GET NOW WITHOUT THE EXCUSE OF A DEEP LUG TRACK.
AND BY THE WAY I STARTED THIS POST SAYING SEVERAL WEEKS AGO SAYING DARN F7'S. OUT IN FRONT OF A 05 AND PULLING AWAY. CAN'T WAIT TO GET THE PIPE ON!!! MAYBE GET A FUSION, OH HOW SWEAT THAT WOULD BE!!
THANKS GUYS THAT POSTED SUGGESTIONS ESPECIALLY POCKETS AND BROCK!!
WILL GET ON THE LAKE WITH THE RADAR AND POST SOME NUMBERS. THIS WEEK WAS HELL DEALING WITH POLARIS AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. ANYWAY WOULD NOT RIDE ANYTHING BUT A POLARIS SO MY GOAL IS TO GET THIS 800 TO ROCK!!

Hey PROXR80004,I just put a .91 lug track on mine with 192 studs.I waiting for a new track(warranty) so I threw on my .91 XCR track. With the 1:64 gear ratio,I'm getting 106 MPH on radar on the lake and hard pack snow I'm seeing 102 MPH.Those numbers are good for a sled that sits so high,if I lower it a little I'll see higher MPH but don't care about that. The sleds made for corner to corner and gets there real quick in 660 ft.The .91 lug works good on hard pack, but isn't the best in deep snow. The best all around track for this sled is the 1 1/4" Ripsaw.
