Hi
I recently went through a fresh belt in less than 350 miles, when I went to swap it out I noticed that it had an hour glass shape. I also noticed that the Secondary had a bit of rotational play, you can rotate the secondary from a 12 o'clock position about an inch in either direction. I adjusted the tensioner by hand and locked it down, it didn't change much, is this normal or do I have some bigger problems lurking in the chain box?
This machine has only 600 miles on it if that makes any difference.
Thanks
Any and all suggestions are welcome

I would probably check the engine mounts first, if the engine is moving when you give it throttle it will cause some nasty belt problems. As for play in the secondary clutch, this is usually normal. That's where I would start on a sled that new. And if the mounts got loose, tightening them may not solve the problem because the sheaves may be out of alignment.

My two-up 98 venture chain sprockets slop is the same as yours. 1-2 inches back and forth also chain tensioner is adjusted correctly. Have had no probs with belt though. good luck, let us know what you find. :beerchug:
