Yup. Rode through the scene of this latest tragedy today around noon. Rider on Rev went out of control on a turn on 114, just before the intersecton of 114C. The story I got at the scene was he was last in a pack of three, blew a right hand sweeper and lost it into the woods. However there was a boulder right there the size of a Volkswagen. Speculation ot that time was he hit the boulder with his helmet, the sled had relatively minor damage. As for no helmet, I doubt that. People at the scene were saying that the helmet broke due to impact. The poor guy laid there for a half hour before they could get him out. All were saying there would have been no saving him anyway, as he was dead right there. Very sobering experience I must say.
I am very sad for his family and friends tonight.

I don't know the full details . But there was a death in Island Pond Sunday. A snowmobiler from CT missed a turn and crash into a tree. His group tried CPR but he was dead before help could arrive.

Also heard that there were to snowmobilers that died in NY Sunday as well.

What has been confusing is that both accidents happened in Brighton in New York and Vermont as Island Pond is a village with in the town of Brighton. Folks becareful we can't afford to lose anymore to this sport.

A couple of kids lost there life in Paul Smiths NY last weekend. Hit a rock jetty that stuck out into the water. Both real young...too bad I hate to see things like that happen. I guess the driver had been drinking. It happend 5 in the morning.

I don't know if I would actually call them kids as they were both 20 year old college students. They hit a rock that does not get covered by the ice. Seems speed and alcohol were involved again. Must have been a hell of a party as they were still out at 4:45 a.m.
