Good News - I got a very nice 100+ miles in at Woodford. :div20:

Bad News - After tomorrow, trails are probably gonna be shot 'till the next significant snowfall. Flush.gif

Got to the Adams Lot @ about 7:30. Woods trails and powerlines had just a few snirty spots with only a couple spots with dirt and rocks showing through but everything was groomed within past 24 hours. Rode up 7 north towards the Weenie wagon. Airport rd. was in very good condition with some ice in the corners. Headed toward Jenks, actually some excellent riding to be had with only 1-2 small areas of bare ground in the woods - flat and fast otherwise. Took the feeder down to Jenk's and got within 500 yards and decided to turn around 'cause I wasn't hungry and didn't need fuel but the trail was great! Then, since everything was so good this far up, I decided to keep going north. The new trail around the old ski area is nice but very steep and twisty. It will be tough with ice and no studs! Wow1.gif Crossed Rt 30 and proceeded up 7 north for about 10 miles. Once on the forest roads, this area was great! Went 52 miles north from Woodford and decided to turn back before the temps came up and the loonies got out. Whole ride back was still good but snow was softening fast. Actually hit 102mph on one nice long straight stretch of 7 that's how flat it was. New top speed record for this sled and it was still pulling hard but that's for another post. Woods trails back towards Woodford definitely showing wear from the morning but still not too bad.

All in all, a very nice 103 miles.

Traffic wasn't too bad either and with one exception, everyone seemed to be riding on their own side of the trail.

For any HCS'ers that might have been riding up there today, I was the lone 04 F7. (Hooked up with a guy on a Fusion later in the day. Said he loved the sled.)

Here's a pic of 7N heading towards Jenk's about 2 miles north of the Weenie wagon (just out of the woods)

A little farther north - just before powerlines leading to Jenks and old ski area

Powerlines just past Jenk's

Some of the dirt showing through in the woods later in the morning but easy enough to drive around. Look at that clear BLUE sky! It was beautiful all morning!

:beerchug: My freind and I rode from Mount Holly south down to Jenks. The trails for the first 10 miles south were awesome past Danby and Tabor. The forest service road to the south past Griffith lake was choppy but not bad. By noon trails were getting soft. All in all a great ride. It was 49 degrees at the truck when we got back to the truck. We didn't get gas at Jenks, but whats up with $3.00 a gallon
for gas. Think snow!!!!
