My husband was a victim of one accident that took place near Jenks on Sunday, January 30th. Speed and the inability to control a snowmobile FROM an oncoming inexperienced rider were the cause of his severe injuries.

It took search and rescue almost 2 hours to find him as he waited in extreme pain. Once they arrived they did the best they could to comfort him and tend to his injuries. We are graetful for them.

We spent 11 hours at a local hospital as the doctors did their best to assess and fix his injuries and they were wonderful to us.

My husband is still in extreme pain and suffers nightmares of the crash every night. He didn't deserve this to happen to him. We, as first time expectant parents, did not deserve this stress during what is to be a wonderful time in our lives.

I believe that people who chose to speed and drive out of control never realize the consequences of their actions. They believe it will never happen to them. All I know is no one is invincible.

I could have lost my husband on Sunday. My unborn child could have lost his father.

If you want to speed, find a track to do it on. Leave the trails for families and responsible riders who value their lives and know how to respect the sport.

SLOW DOWN!!!!!!!!!!

Hope your husband recovers fully, sorry to hear about such things. Thanks for coming on here and putting a face(so to speak) with the incident. Your first hand plead may be heard by more than a few. Good luck.

I am sorry to hear about that. I lost my Fiance in a snowmobile accident last year, you are very lucky to have him still there you. The trails are so dangerous now a days, it takes the fun out of trail riding. Everybody speeds in the trails no matter how much you tell them, until something happens to themseves or someone close. I hope all is well with you and your family.

She's right SLOW DOWN and BE SAFE!!

Thank you all for your well wishes. It's very nice to see such nice thoughts in such a difficult time.

Jenny Jet - I am very sorry for you loss and thank you for sharing with me.

Sledneck36 - I am sorry you read my situation and find it boring. I hope you never have to go though a situation like this. Then again, I hope you never cause another rider to go through the stress and pain of an accident. Remember, you are not invincible and I pray that with your attitude, you don't learn that the hard way.

For the rest of us responsible riders, I pray you all have a safe and enjoyable rest of the season.

Thank you again.

It is people like that that give sledding a bad name. These are the kinds of people that ride thinking they are the only ones on the trails. I ride in Canada all season and this year there are a ton of "Cowboys" like that up there. The trails are flat and wide and they think they can get loaded then ride wide open. These are the type of riders that I can't stand. I put an average of 5-6000 miles on up there a season. I see families with kids in cabooses, older people and tour groups with inexperianced riders. These are people that are up there to enjoy the sport and the outdoors. These Cowboys are only up there for the weekend or a week and don't care what destruction they leave behind.
yankegrl22 good luck to you and your husband as well as your child to be! There are good people on the trails, you just don't here about them as much as you should.
JennyJet I am REALLY sorry to here about your loss!!! That is my biggest fear losing someone you love to a accident!

I am so sorry to here about your trouble on the trail. I have been riding off road motorcycles all my life and to think we have a legal place to ride is unreal. It is to bad that people do not realize how good we have it to even have a place to ride. Please do not give up the sport, I have five childern and we all enjoy the sport so much. I wish the three of you well. Peace & Prayers. BT. 1luvu.gif

I haven't removed anything, in fact this is the first time I've read this thread. But it looks like there was some personal attacks made, and a moderator acted.

HOW are we to clean up this website when the members continue to bash. If not sleds they bash people trau14.gif :no_bashing:

I agree that this site should be kept clean....however, I feel that the comment that sledneck36 made should be left on here so that everyone can see what type of person this "person" is. If you can you may want to see if you can retieve that post so that you can see it for yourself.
yankegrl22
Rob - "Sledneck36" should be removed from the site permanently. This person doesn't have the right to attack innocent people for his amusement.

Another Thing i would like to mention i saw an article a few years ago saying that not all people that are trying to pass you are going excessively fast. Say if you are in a larger group and the average speed for that day is 20mph and there is a group of 2 sled behind you and they come up on you the polite thing to do is to pullover and let them go by because there average speed maybe 25mph for the day and over 10hrs of snowmobiling that is an extra 50 miles that group of to guys can go it doesnt mean that they are speeding out of control they are just moving a little faster than your group also in bigger groups it is harder to get a higher average speed

Thanks for concidering this steve.

So sorry this happend to youre Husband.....
