Hi guys! I am headed on the RAP trip in a few weeks and have been looking at the maps. I do not see any mention of the gas station in Whitney along Hwy #60. Is it still there? It is a great spot for fuel on the way to Pembroke.
Any help would be great.
Thanks.
Was just there the other weekend. There's the Shell station in Whitney where Hwy 60 crosses the Madawaska river.
I've always wanted to do the RAP tour. Have fun!!

And you should get it there. You should be able to make Pembroke from Whitney on a tank. It's about 100miles. No gas in between without going at least a mile or two out of your way!

There is Gas in Madawaska but Pembroke Irving to Whitney should be no problem, just watch out for cops they got me for not stopping on Sunday and they radar pretty regular too.

Where do you get gas in Madawaska? The station on the corner of the highway is closed. I agree, the cops tend to be thick around Whitney..

Really, the station in Madawaska is closed?? I think it was a stinson. It was about 500 m from the trail.
Definately gas in whitney, and a half decent place to get food.
The place to watch out for gas is trout creek and duex riveriers.
DR only has gas sometimes. its a good jaunt 240 km from NB to stonecliffe. Get gas in astorville or bonfield.
At trout creek there is NO gas. Go to (I think) Burks falls for gas and then you have to go to Nippissing.

make sure you don't miss the turn coming into Pembroke for the Irving or you will run out of fuel. You have to turn south off of the rail line onto Top trail A and follow it around town to the Irving. You can also get gas in Bonnechere which is a good idea. Then you aren't cutting it close. It's only a two mile ride south off the B trail to round lake and it should be staked.

I was just through there a couple of weeks ago and got gas in Madawaska, very large sign on trail cant miss it. There is also signage for gas at Bonnechere and round lake is staked to the station. From there it is about 65km to The Irving in Pembroke but you do have to watch for the A trail off the railbed, there was no sign there.
