Exit 15...Lake Morey...when they have snow! Its less than .5 mile to the parking lot and gas. From the VT line to the exit it takes the same time as it takes going rt 9 to Bumpford...its just more miles

Oh ya...If I was STARTING in springfield I would go I.P. for the day...NO QUESTION! :div20:
I'm in Milford CT which 1.25 hrs from Springfeild so riding is always a hike dunno.gif

copyed from another post

well i live in baltimore vt near springfield and the closest spot i know to park is the mobile station in north springfield. if your coming north bound on 91 you take exit 7 and stay right off the ramp. this is route 11. you need to follow that about 5 miles until you come to the set of lights by mcdonalds. you go straight thru these lights and now your on rt. 106 north. about 5 miles you'll come to the mobile station on your left. from there you can access vast trail 5. if you have a vast map you can see the mobile on there as the red flg next to north springfield. the map isn't very acurate for it shows the mobile on the wrong side of rt. 106. from there if you head north towards south reading bridgewater and, plymouth the riding is good. i havn't been out this week but we got about 8-9 inches last saturday and another 4-6 yesterday so the trails should be good. the parking area in chester is a good place to unload also

The parking lot is straight through town on rt 11 west there is a sign on your right that points up a road called lovers lane rd. The parking lot is just up on your left you can't miss it.

This is the parking lot by the Reservoir and Dam that's right off Trial 5, right?

This the Jan 27th trail report from the Skitchewaug Trail Riders:

Trails have been groomed but once again the snow we got was very light
and powdery.
Better then before but still not that great.
Good where tails were/are smooth but rocky, bumpy trails are still not
covered well. We also haven't had temps above the teens all week .
Had another 2 +/- last night but the same thing...dry and powdery.
