I switched from Polaris to Ipone. I think it works better overall. Also has a nice smell to it.

Ive been using bombardier synthetic @ 52$ a gallon, fucking rediculous price, so I thought that I would try Ipone it was only 32$ or something like that, thanks for the input.
shell_guy
Well, I dont think too highly of Ipone oil. All the manufacturers make a list of warrenty covered oils for their snowmobiles, and Ipone was one of the oils that did not pass therfore when running Ipone it voids your warrenty.

So where can we see these lists at?

My buddy uses this for his Firecats. No complaints. he got it really cheap too: $32/4L.

I use Shell Advance Snow Ultra Synthetic was $33/4L at C-Tire. Same as Bombardier oil.

Next year Ill order a box of KLOTZ through my supplier in Ontario...
msmith
Every November the Shell Warehouse in Darmouth puts their Snowmobile oil on sale. You have to buy it buy the case.

I paid $15.36 /4l jug Advance

$28.24 /4l jug Advance Snow Ulta Syn

I have been using it for 5 years now, no problems!

Check it out! Snowtrax Shell Oil

I'm not sure, I saw it through a dealer whoose a friend of ours. Askyour local dealer they may have a copy. Shell sent out a copy of a letter from Polaris and ki-doo, stating that Shell Advanced oil met or exceted dealer spec oil in every test.

Since I do not have power valves I use the shell Advance oil in my wildcat and I really like the product as well. The funny thing is go to Canadian Tire and look at the Formula one snowmobile oil.

Same packaging as the Shell Advance ... same guarantee for all 4 manufacturers ... same pour point and this is the part that is not the same 8 dollars cheaper!

How much do you want to bet it is made by shell!

Anyway I chose to pay the 8 bucks extra but it got me thinking!

You sure about Gord's oil? That's a real good price if it's synthetic, I've got a feeling it's mineral oil, that's what our dealer sells it for.
Not sure about now, but Crappy Tire oil used to be made by Esso. I got about 3 case of the stuff 3 years ago, got 1 left that I'm trying to use up, then it'll be bulk Doo mineral. I think.
And I've never heard a manufacturer admit that another certain brand of oil is good to use. Most I've seen them say is use theirs, or oil of certain specs.
Shell Advance is no doubt good oil.

I used the canadian tire formula1 oil in my machz for years. The sled has almost 10,000km and not a problem. At 12.95 a gallon you save alot of money with that many miles.
NyTrOMaNIaC
I used Bombi drum oil for the last 5000 Km's and it worked great ! Refills are $25 with your own jug, but it surely isn't synthetic oil. It's plain ol dino oil. Synthetic is $50 or more, 800 H.O. will vouch for that. I used Ipone in my 02 Viper, and it worked good, I guess. The smell was nice, sure beats the usual burn your eyes out oil that's for sure ! I just switched to Formula 1 oil today, half the price is a bonus, just hoping the next 5000 Km's will be just as good as the last ! :div20:

I'm an AMSOIL dealer here in Newfoundland...if anyone wants some let me know!
Fiddler
I asked the local Manager in the automotive section who made thier Motomaster brand of oil. He said he was pretty sure it was made by Shell.
I just wish they would come out with the Synthetic stuff.

I've been using IPONE for 2 seasons now. Its is without a doubt the best I've used, you no longer have to worry about cleaning valves. Also its 100% biodegradabel, so the mineral oil skeptics can relax. IMHO it is waaaay better than amsoil. Its amazing how well this stuff treats the inside of your motor as well.

Your so full of crap its not even funny Jaso FC certified means it meets the most stringent tests given to 2 stroke oil. What are you an amsoil dealer? Results speak for themselves, IPONE has had more winners in the winners circle in WSA snocross, as well as the X-games gold this year than any other oil. I've first hand seen what the inside of an engine looks like after thousands of miles on IPONE and frankly what you are saying is not true. It wouldn't suprise me if the dealer feed you this B.S. to keep you buying the overpriced OEM oil when there is an enviromentally friendly oil that is also superior lubricant for less cost.

It seems to me that Amsoil racers are doing quite alright in the racing department.

Racing Standings

Not to mention that Amsoil was the first company to create synthetic oil so i think they know what they are talking about.

p.s. my power valves are spotless.
caper711cc
I used Shell for the last 4 years....and loved it....bought 3 gallons of Amsoil
Interceptor to try it....so while at the local bulk plant talking to buddy who run`s the
place tells me Ultmar in Alberta is marketing high synthetic ,low ash, -57 pour
point exceeds all mafactors rating etc....brought a case in so soon will
give it hook ...will post spec. on this product......100% synthetic...$24.99 contactor pricing....could be the right stuff......

I shouldn't have thrown amsoil into the mix, the post was about IPONE, it smells better(opinion, but guarentee more people will agree), is enviromentally friendly(something this sport could certainly use more of) and there is no way interceptor leaves the valves as clean, that would be impossible, If it leaves zero carbon then we will call it a tie. IPONE is also cheaper than interceptor as well. Plus it tastes good too! I was mainly addressing the total unfounded comments that IPONE would void your warrenty and cause engine damage. That is just flat out untrue. Tell the Blair Morgan race team that and see what they say.

I found the complete opposite. I find AC oil crap! one of the main reason's why I switched. I have no complaints at all about Amsoil.

Here is a few comparative tests that Amsoil have done with some of the other leading brands. Keep in mind that Amsoil makes oil for EVERYTHING ot just snowmobiles.

All due respect (to quote everybody's favourite mobster), but you are sounding a bit like an Ipone dealer. Let's not turn this into a pissing match. Opinions on the Ipone was what started the thread, no need to dump on other brands. After all, if you asked 5 people what was the best oil, you'd get 10 different answers.
