My buddy and I were riding this past weekend in Rangeley and he noticed a significant decrease in top end speed and power. He has a 98 Formula III 700 that is completely stock. He just had it in the shop 2 weeks ago for a tune up and had carbs cleaned. We got it back and it would not start. Back to the shop and they said the ignition module was bad and replaced it. He noticed about a 20-25 mph drop top end and little throttle response after 3/4 throttle. The sled also was idling very high. SkiDoo shop in Rangeley said possible that they put the wrong module in. Anyone have any ideas? He is not happy that my mxz800 leaves him further behind than usual.

25mph top end loss??? Sounds like its running on two cylinders.

Could the wrong module affect this. This is the only thing I can think of since it was running fine before all this. I don't know much about the module except that the dealer told him it affects the firing and timing sequence. Could this cause the timing/firing of just one cylinder to be off?
