I've got a Gramin GPS V with cig.lighter power adapter that I want to user on my Fusion. Can I run it directly from the Fusion power or should Iget a power converter to protect the GPS?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

you will need to add a rectifier to provide 12v d.c. also make sure the gps v is protected with a .5 amp fuse if you wire direct by cutting off the cig. adpter. I done this with my gps 3 plus. Works great. Also if you build your mount in the right spot (so the hood opens and the bars still go to pos 7 ) engine heat travels through the opening in front of the bars and will keep the unit warm. I was in -4 deg. f and worked fine.

According to the sales literature, the fusion has a "12v DC outlet accessory" I remember the dealer showing me the wires under the hood.

I'm glad I asked the question, but I'm confused as to what Polaris meant with this 12v DC thing.

You may be correct, however my dealer added the little rectifier controller to my fusion before I took delivery as I requested. I would ask your dealer to make sure because you do not want to connect to a.c. If you are going to add elect. start and battery then you would have d.c. w/o the need to add a rectifier.

You don't need a rectifier, its already DC voltage. I've had my GPS connected for a month. I'd advise against a cigerette lighter connect, it falls out. I put in a pull a part connector

I just went to Radio Shack and got a male and female rca jack and wired one to the gps and the other to the sled-works fine
