anyone from the south wood stock area know what they got in last saturdays storm? thinking of riding up over hawks and out that way this weekend
schifty
we picked up anywhere from 8-12" of very light dry snow. have not ridden yet but i'm sure the trails are open just not sure how this light snow will groom up.

I rode this evening from So. Reading to So Woodstock, Trails were not groomed since the 12 inches of snow on Saturday. Lots of tracks and very large water bars to contend with. That being said however, Coolidge State forest from So. Reading to Plymouth to Shrewsbury were groomed, flat and fast. I also noticed that the Ludlow and Springfield groomers were out. South of Colby pond towards Cavendish was also not groomed and very rough. It was definately worth the 100 miles I did and will probably do again tomorrow night. Atta boy to the clubs that got to groom but we still need more snow for the groomers to work their magic on some of the rougher trails. Also a note from my ride on Sunday, great to break trail for 50 miles in powder. Note however that the So. Woodstock store only has the Premium pump operating $2.49 gal.

that south woodstock store is the biggest rip-off.... that's my backyard at home, and although i will go there for food, i never buy fuel from them.

I don't mind paying a little extra for the convienence of having a store with a trail to it.I may not do my weekly grocery shopping there though.A dime more a gallon for gas is only gonna cost you a buck a tank!Lets be glad they let us into town with our sleds!

but considering i don't want premium (the only pump operating) it will cost me, if close to empty, an extra $7.

on a 12 gallon tank that's almost $30.... yikes.

Wow! How much is it a gallon? I guess I haven't fueled up there for a while,I don't live too far away down the trail and I got a new 4-stroke so I can skip a fuel stop here and there. I usually just get a hot choc or coffee anyway and thats expensive flavored water wherever you go!

Just as a follow up, I rode from Woodstock to Woodford on Saturday and Jenks was bending everyone over for $2.95 gal. Oh well I guess it beats running out of gas. Funny that I was remembering my previous post about So. Woodstock store and then thought what a bargan.
