Full Version: EPI Yellow vs Almond/red primary spring

Many times have I read post that state that these springs are the exact same (165/310) however the Almond/red is rated at 2.5" and 1.19" and EPI lists there''s at 2.5" and 1.25". On paper this would suggest that the EPI Yellow would have a finishing rate closer to an Almond round or Black/White Polaris spring. My question having never used any EPI stuff is, How do these two springs actually compare in the field.

Thanks,

I have been using EPI springs for a few years now without a problem. I run the yellow right now and it has been fine. I did hear last year that the yellows were prone to breaking but I have not experienced any problems.

I didn't have any problem with breaking, but with heavier weights, the yellow seemed to sag awfully quick. When I installed the almond/red with the exact same weights, my engagement and top end remained the same.
