We rode from Colton to Cranberry today. There wasn't alot of traffic. Pretty powdery no base one of the trails was groomed don't ask me the number but it's really loose.

I rode up there on saturday. Trails around cranberry were aweful, dodge 20 rocks to hit another 10. We basically went up and rode the lake all day. I spoke with a friend that stayed there last night during the storm. He said they got about 4 inches of fresh on top. But of course there is no base so its ruff as hell. We need at least a good foot to do anything. I'm surprised to hear they are grooming. Seems to me the groomer would would just push the snow right off the trail with no base. To sum it all up there is about 10 inches on the ground at best with no base so basically we just need lots more snow.

The groomer did not run out of Cranberry Lake. It must have been South Colton. I spoke to one person who said the groomer was just paning to try and make a base

Ok guys, we've had 2 clipper systems go by since the last update. Has anyone heard anything. I'm planning on going up this weekend. I'm hopeing we will actually be able to ride the trails this time without drilling rocks every 10 ft.

It does'nt look good. We got about 4-6 inches of new snow but it's all powder. :banghead: We are suppose to take delivery of a newer rubber tack Tucker tomorrow. That will help us get out there sooner,But we still need snow badly.
We had a crew out yesterday updating signs, They said it was still pretty rocky in places

I agree tried riding my trails back in my south forty and rode into Lisbon. Even though there is a good amount on the ground you just sink right through it and blow it away. This sucks we need at least 6" of WET snow to get a firm base before winter is over since we are half way now. :banghead:

riverat,
Gotta have toys for all seasons.
I rode about sixty miles on Saturday  . Wasnt the greatest but i rode. It's strange how there is good snow than run into almost nothing than back again.
I groomed on Sunday around Spuce Moutain toward little blue and was suprised at the amount of snow in that area. Lets pray for more :fluffy:

I used to belong to Spruce Mountain and liked riding around there. Is the riding worth Trailering up there? I rode this weekend from camp at Aldrich and headed towards Alice Brook but had to turn around at Youngs road due to an ill rider. That trail to there was not bad! If we could get a foot of packy snow?

As the conditions were on sun I would say yes. You might want to think about unloading in Windfall. The trail out of town was getting pretty beat.
I dont know what it will be like with this warm weather.
