I bought two of those Polaris flip front helmets last season and they are falling apart. The glue let loose on the padding and one of the buckles will not disengage. So, I am returning them for a refund or replacement. I doubt they will refund the money, but probably replace them. So, I am thinking of going with the motocross style with goggles. I hear that they do not fog as bad.

This link is for a pure polaris helmet. Anyone out there use this one? How about advice on other race style Polaris helmets?

they dont come with the breath deflecter piece in them, and polaris doesnt make one for it. you will need to order one from castle thats made for HJC helmets, they velcroe in. what i did on my race helmet and works perfect.

i just switched from the motocross style to the flip up visor model myself. i didn't like the long visor on top. i felt like it impeded my vision above eye level.

you are correct in the fact that the goggles won't fog often. if you stop during a ride, and take the goggles off, they will fog though. so keep them on at all times unless you are going inside, or stopping for a long time.

you will also be more suceptible to frostbite if you ride in extreme cold temps because there is a small gap between the outside edge of the goggles and the helmet,. try a balaclava or something similar to make sure your nose, forehead, and temple areas are covered because you will notice the wind quite a bit more.

good luck.

if you get the right goggles, there wont be a gap. I have Smith Snow Warps, and they have extra foam around the outside, and I dont have any wind coming in, besides where the vents are in the goggles. Havent gotten cold riding with it down to 0* so far. i like how they are lighter. Get the breath deflecter with the velcroe in piece, and goggles and your set. the breath part was like $9. get it form HJC or castle i believe, but i got mine from a local skidoo dealer, i think any dealer that has helmets either has them or can get you one
