aside from buying new boots has anyone got any great ideas on what to use to plug the holes?

you could put 2 sparkplugs in the hole and clamp them tightof go get 1/2 in plastic pipe and glue two caps to them then sticxk them in the holes and clamp

Hardware store has rubber corks. 35 cents each. Fit perfect and flush, didn't need to, but put a dab of silacone around the sides and it looks like they belong there.
