Just bought 99 mach Z 800. (all stock) Rode 360 miles this weekend in u.p. had a blast!! Sled is a little nose heavy hard cornering any suggestions. Also, likes to foul plugs on cold start up. put in NGKBR8's and seem to fix problem - will this hurt anything? Also, was riding real aggresive thru tight corners - hard on the brakes a lot and appeared to boil brake fluid , brakes failed lever went right to the handle bars. After letting it cool down they came back and worked fine. should I change to dot 5 fluid? Any tune up tricks would be appreciated.

I would definetly change the fluid anytime a bought a used sled unless it had been documented that it had been changed by a dealer recently.
Since you have boiled the fluid a change is mandatory at this point.

I think the correct plug is BR9ES. 8's are hotter, I would watch it on them.

congrats on the new sled your lucky I havent even been able to ride my 99 mach z that I picked up nor have I even seen it
I bought it off of ebay right after the snow melted and the guy was 45 mins from my uncles house so I sent my uncle the check and had him go over the sled before he turned over the funds its in free storage so I am not to worried about it
he checked compresion clutches out and even removed a good section of his front yard with the sled lol making sure every thing was good lol
I will be picking it up some time the end of this month more than likley
it has a m 10 suspension and 1,1/4 track I only paid 2,151 for it I think I got a great deal
