Has anyone out there done the hot seat performance kit on this sled. I have been rideing my 2003 for three years now, and was going to buy the new 900 but I am going to wait one more year. So I spent a few coins and got the pipe, silencer, reeds, and clutch, I did not do the CDI box because my dealer had sent mine to Polaris last year and did not think it would be worth the money????

First ride was great until I pulled up next to my buddy on a 2003 F-7 and the two sleds are very close in the quater mile, from a dead stop or rolling start. I can see a huge improvement in the low end and mid-range but I need to know if there is more that can be done. He can't touch this sled in the woods but on a stright run it's to close, I do out weigh him by 80 pounds. HELP! BT.

I may have to re-jet plugs are questionable.

Just did the whole kit on my 2003 PRO X 800. Pipe, silencer, reeds, and clucth, did not do the CDI box because my dealer had sent mine to the factory last year and said I did not need to spend the money?? More bottom end and midrange is much better, but I do not think it's all there yet. ANYONE OUT THERE WITH IT PLEASE GET BACK. THANKS BT.

My buddy did the same kit as you on his 04 Pro 800. He fought with the DET light all season.

I had an SLP single, air box etc.. and it worked good also, but I had to disconnect the DET as well.

Definately jet it down. Polaris' run real fat from the factory.

Get the CDI box reprogramming done!! It is well worth it. The timing gets so advanced up high you are losing top end. Just what you want. Send it out to Hot Seat and get it done.

The statement jet it down - well first off, we dont know what he is running, and second off it is no longer stock. I am getting less patient on elementary remarks.

I would find out the best rpm for that pipe set up, have your tach calibrated, and reclutch. If you really want to out run that f7 I would suggest twin pipes. My buddy ran twins and it laughed at f-7's (granted it should) Have you done the head mod?

You should be in the neighborhood of stock jets, with the needle in #3 clip. I would also do the SLP airbox mod, with flowrites to get the top end airflow up.

add an RKT head... i'm running a hsp single, vforce 2 reeds, goodwins did the clutching (though i'm running a hyperlight now and am tuning it myself) and have the RKTek head on my pro7, it is a VERY potent combo even with the big 136x1.75 track and ultra short gearing... i'm geared for 91mph at 1:1 shift on the clutches and it pulls easily past 95 in crap conditions... the RKT head made the biggest hp difference on my sled, easily as much as the pipe and reeds combined, prolly more... if you don't bother with the RKTek head, look at the hyperlight clutch... i'd consider those two to be the biggest bang for the buck mods i've ever done any any sled...

Who sells the RKT head and how much did it cost. Did you do anything with the CDI box. Thanks BT. :div20:

The only reason I did not do the CDI box was because my dealer said he had sent mine to the factory last year to be reprogramed. I think he may have forgot to send it to Hot Seat to swap. So I will call them Monday. He said he did not see what more they could do with the CDI, I want the one from HOT SEAT, I'll be on the phone with them and the factory Monday. Please get back. BT.

the HyperLight is 399 for the PERC version... www.hotsleds.com worth every penny

I got the new clutch from hot seat, can I use it with this or do I buy there clutch?? Thanks. BT.
bonz50
you didn't get a new clutch, just a clutch kit (weights and springs and a helix), and no you can't use it... you could use the primary parts but they will be WAY off... if you decided to get the hyperlight you should send back the hot seat clutch kit and get a refund... and frankly, it would be worth the effort my man...

You have an 03 so you have nothing to worry about. The DET is a PITA on the 04s. Mine was way too sensitive and would come on all the time.
