Not familiar with polaris at all but my friend has a 97 Ultra 700 triple. I was helping him do some work on it and the choke cable was frozen. I took the flip lever off and inspected the casing that brings the 3 cables together. Seemed fine then i went to pull the choke cable out of the carbs and they wont come out o the slots on the sides of the carbs. They are all stuck and wont move. They all are nice and straight with no bends or kinks from what i can tell. Never encountered this problem before with a choke. Anything special about the chokes on this polars i need to know of? We were gonna bring the sled to my place and tear the carbs apart... i cant figure why the choke ends wont come out of the carb slots.

Had the same problem last year on our Ultra. the carb plungers are corroded into the housing ( bad design by Poo ). Crack the lash nut loose and spray some PB blaster in there and let it sit, they'll eventually loosen up may take some slight pursuasion. I spray graphite in mine now when I reinsert them to stop the corrosion build up.

Do you mean the graphite liquid solution that you use on door locks to keep them lubed? will it do any damage in the engine with the little pieces of the graphiteblowing through?

Powdered graphite, rub some on your fingers and then roll the plunger around between them, it's not enough to do anything other than supply a coating to the plunger on re-install, it just stops the build up of corrosion between the plunger and the carb housing, do it every season.

Cheers.

GOT YA, sounds like a good ideal.
