I was in the UP last week and past around 5 groomers. I was curious why none of them had the communicator beacons? My understanding was that Collet supplies them for free and that they would help the groomers to slow down sleds. I am not complaining, just wondering...

Did you have your Communicator set on the number one channel? That is the default channel with One tone hear when set. If you had your radios set on the second channel, two tones when set, you will not hear the beacon.

I know of a club or two up here that have the beacons sitting in a box in the clubhouse. Not sure why they are not installed.
