Both sleds tacked out at 7400 (03) and 7450 on the (04). From what I remember that motor loses something ridonkulous like 40 HP at 7400 vs. 7150 rpms.

I was very happy with the 03...I weigh 185 and when a 155 lb friend took it out he ripped off 116 so it will do the 116-117 it's supposed to.

The 04 is still not dialed in right though...at least on ice...b/c when I was on the trails in Pittsburg a week ago (when they had snow b/f the rain) It tacked out at 7200 every WOT run I did...so what should I do...leave it since I don't ride on ice but 10% or less of the time or what?

Let me know your thoughts.

P.S. The 03 will take a lot of sleds in the first 2000' b/f the big bad triples real me in and go on by...like they should. I am very happy with this sled..except...what are you 03 ZR 900 guys running instead of the 020 belts...mine blew up at 110 after like 20 runs or so...it was not too cool! :banghead:

(END OF PASTE)
Well thats the 2nd dyno i have seen and it dont lose much till 7600+ . At 7400 it still makes 149.9. I know different conditions change the power you make, i race drag cars and know all about that, but this is the 2nd dyno sheet i see and they both were done in warmer weather and still made this power, i have seen others do the same, i am trying to locate em. I just dont understand any of this, some of you guys have big time mods and i dont have crap done yet, and it flies. Well the ice will be good soon in Anchor bay and i will make it a point to go and try and find my buddies with their modded 03's that are set up only for ice, and i ran with them from a roll, i couldnt hook up at all with the trail studs. And again i also have a buddy on here with an 03 bone stock that is like me, and he also runs with the modded guys. Like you said Bosssho i must have a possesed sled , it just confuses me to hear all these low mph's for all the mods some of you have. I just wish i would of left the 10 tooth drivers in and had a shorter lug for a day, but i dont really care, you cant blow by me on the trail anyway and thats where i ride. I go on the T-cat board sometimes and i see guys saying theres(T-1000) wont run faster then 105mph at best, and you know something has to be wrong there with that big boy, so it goes to show you nothing is the same after the assembly line. Oh well no matter what fall off my 04 at 100 and your 03 at a 100 and i think you will hurt the same. I just think everything is different, i think Bosssho both of your Zr's with the mods you have should be over or at 120+. The aftermarket pipe alone should put you real close with clutching. There is one guy on here i cant remember his user name, he has an 03 with stock pipes going 118MPH. i am gonna try and think of his usere name and get him on here, he usually only posts in the general forum. Take care and be safe :div20:
i am hopefully leaving tonight or tommorrow to go to the U.P and see what we can do, i wonder if you scanned your GPS reading vs. a picture if it would come clearer?? Maybe thats what i will have to do is just scan the gps and see if it come up clearer. I hope you get yours all straightend out Bosssho, i know they have alot more left in em!! buttrock.gif

Red,

The 04 was between 7450 and 7550...and that's if my tach is accurate....the 20 HP fall off b/t 7500 and 7600 is HUGE. That being said for every 10 RPMS you go above 7500 you are losing power in droves so this dyno sheet is pretty much what I thought...I mean you lose almost 30 HP b/t 7200 and 7600 which is nuts.

My 03 is only supposed to do 117 in optimum conditions with the stock gearing. If I weighted 140 lbs it would have done that so it's 100% all set. 115-117 is no different. To do 120 you have to go with either the pipe or twin pipes and different gears I believe and then I would lose my earth moving hole shot which I don't want to do. This thing makes my 87 Mustang GT look like it's launching in reverse now!

The 04 has less agressive picks out back and thus spins a bit more off the line but still hooks up violently. It just either needs the gears that I have coming or more weight or more Helix...either way, I either have it in my garage or on order from Black Diamond.

I also bet I could tighten everything down for a lower stance and rip off 1-2 mph more, but then I would not have it ride the way I like. Even so, 111 is no slouch and the thing gets there pretty damn good...I killed the 05 F7 and both REV 800s that were there when we raced a few times so no matter what I am very happy with this sled...it's obvious CAT did something with the 05 F7s (Gearing or the 10 tooth Drivers that are now back in them???) though b/c bone stock they are running faster than the ZR 900s on the top end, but that stupid narrow track hooks up like $hit most of time no matter what picks you have in it and they will never catch the ZR 900 in a race b/c of that...at least anything less than 3500'. :div20:

Ya i agree Bosssho, all along i thought you had different pipes on it, i was wrong. Cause i was always wondering why anyone would have heavier weights with a pipe that make more HP at higher rpm's, but i must of read one of your posts wrong. Thats cool you are into mustangs to, i have a 83 notchback that runs 10.50's at 130+ in the 1/4 naturally aspirated with a non stroked 302, its a .030 302 which makes it a 306. But anyway i know from my twin kit i do have they sent me Big Dog 75 gram weights, a black spring for the primary and the helix shows nothing other then a part # and thats DD8235 and the clutch kit# is
200-9212 and it supposed to make it rev to 7800-7900 and make 170+ horse, i have seen some dyno sessions in person with other twin kits do a bit more then 170 but i am scared to mess with it. I got the pipes all coated and everything with big hopes and dreams, but being its EFI they also sent me a Fuel equalizer, you have to run 4 tubes into different spots in the intake boots and also run a fuel pressure regulator and gauge. But i dont have egt gauges and dont feel like melting a piston or 2. And you still have 4 screws to mess with to get it right, but i dont want to ruin my trail time, maybe late in the year i will try it and run it on the ice. And for people that dont think a GPS is accurate, it is, if the one you see isnt then that unit is messed up, the military uses em to see how long it takes for things across the earth to get to a destination, i trust one as much or more then a radar gun, i see last year on the ice 2 guys with radar guns and 1 was 5mph different then the other one. Well maybe 1 day i will put the kit on and go, but right now i am just having fun not having to mess with it. Hopefully today i get it back so i can hit the U.P, i prepaid for a cabin up there starting yesterday for a full week and i am still here in the lower michigan. And it sucks rain for lower michigan is gonna kill all of our snow, which makes it to where you have to go to the U.P every week, which is fine other then all the cash you have to spend. Well everyone i hope this is that last time i am on here for a few day, due to getting my sled back today at noon hopefully and go riding for the week, SO BE SAFE AND HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :div20:

ya you strap it down you should get more mph!!

Yeah, all stock exhaust for me...I don't mess with EFI. My Mustang is set up for autocrossing and drag racing which fight each other...so it's won a few auto crosses and run 13.21 @ 107.1 mph in the 1/4.

Nice Vortech!

Watch out...you guys are going to get us in trouble with your non sled talk!

My 87 GT is the same paint scheme, albeit, the Dark Shadow Blue Metalic...and I need a blower! lol
mtrsprt
Paint color is "Ultra blue"

No many like it. Most were two other shades of blue. A little lighter.

let me know when your going to be on anchor bay
let see what happens with this warmup first tho..
my sled will be in trail form..

oh yeah.. one thing with gps is you gotta hold top speed long enough for the unit to update or you will cheat yourself outta a few mph
