okay, i need to know what to do with my motor i took off the exhaust and i see scratches in my piston and a cracked piston (not broken yet) it starts up but of course i dont start it anymore.
are these cylinders nickel plated and if so what can i do to fix it cheap?
if they arent i should be able to bore it and get oversized pistons?
anyone know of a cheap place online to get aftermarket cylinders?
can i get the cylinders sent out and fixed (havnt tore it down yet too see if i need to)
but if the pistons that bad the cylinder probably is too.
any help is greatly apprciated im at college right now so i cant tear it down till i get back to alaska but we got LOTS OF SNOW AND I WANNA RIDE ASAP!!!

Yes these cylinders are plated. You can't get the full story until the jugs are off. Even if the pistons are scratched the bore might not be to bad. Remember the pistons are softer than the plating.
Someone here should be able to guide you to a good mail order source for new jugs (or repair).
I think Dennis Kirk advertises new cylinders in thier catalog.
Good luck

01' sno-pro? there was a topend update, might be your problem. don't know. no overbore pistons for the 440's. just replate the jugs $150 +/- each.
