I am going to regear my XC 600 down for a bit more grunt on low end. My choices are to go with OEM powder metel gears or the aftermarket cut gears that are a bit lighter also. I have never broke a OEM gear, what are some your thoughts out there in snowmobile land

By the way how do they make pwder metal gears :help:

Thanks Kirt xmas-smiley3.gif

Aftermarket. IMO Better quality, typically less expensive as well.

Earlandson for aftermarket gears. is your 600 24-40 stock? thats what my 98 XC7 was. what are you changing too?

Thinking of going to a 41 on the bottom, not much just a bit.

What do you want for it?

I would go with EPI gears, they would be lite as the stock one. I did the same thing you are gong to do but bought a 41 from the dealer but is was way heavier than the stock one veryangry.gif When you lose 50% of your power through the drive train why add more rotating weight. Consider a aluminum one dunno.gif flag_usa.gif

DO NOT use aluminum gears for trail abuse
