700 Poo SKS
Good morning all,
I recently upgraded my sled from a 1995 to a 2003 700 SKS. I have been reading a few of the posts about the soft rear suspension, and was curious, for those who have changed the springs to the heavy duty set, did you buy them from Polaris or go aftermarket?
I love the sled, I have had it our for a few quick rides across the lawn, man what a difference from my '95.
I want to do a few perf mods, but this year it will remain box stock. Next summer I'm thinking of a few mild mods, what has worked the best for you all? I ride 80% trail, 15% lake, and the rest is around the house with my kids. I was thinking about a pipe, reeds, and maybe a clutch kit, maybe even changing the gears a tad.
Thaks for the help.

Anyone?
What about boost bottles? I have heard and read mixed oppinions. What is the story on boost bottles?
Thanks for the help.

I have a sks 800 all I did was jet down 2 sizes, added reeds, gut the airbox and we map the cdi box.Man what a diffence that made I tried pipes and gearing but i lost power on the dyno with these add ons.I found that the stock gearing seem to work the best. And the pipe sounded great but to much of a hassle.only thing i did was got the stock silencer of a 2001 800 and put it on,the 03 have a big dent in the bottem where the 01 don,t.Alot of people will try to tell you to pipe and gear but from my experience they both have there problems.oh I also put a clutch kit in also [hot seat trail kit]

I'm curious about the mods you performed, (i.e. pipe, gearing, etc) did you use a single pipe or twin pipes? I have been looking hard at the SLP single ceramic coated pipe, SLP claims weight reduction and a HP increase.
I do realize while the engine is box stock aftermarket reeds won't do much, but with the pipe and a clutch kit throttle response should increase.
I am keeping it stock this season, and then playing next summer/fall. I want to get a good feel for what kind of mods I want to do based on my riding this winter. I'd hate to spend the $$ for mods Imay not like or need. So I'm taking the time to research and ride, then with a clear goal of what I want for perf inhancements, begin the mods.
Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

GO WITH THE SLP. WE TRIED THE REST AND FOUND THAT THE SLP ADD ONS ARE THE BEST! A SINGLE CERAMIC COATED PIPE, AIR HORN KIT, REEDS, JETTING AND CLUTCHING IS A REAL GOOD START. YOU'LL LOVE IT.
