Trying to get a few responses about the top speed of a Ski-Doo 500 fan touring SLE. It has 232 miles on it, and is mint. My brother in-law owns it.

He's not sure if he wants to keep it for his fiance', because a few keep telling him it will only go 55mph. She doesn't want to be totally left at the back of the pack on long trails and lakes.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of 75mph.

Heck, my in-laws 660 4 strokes(non-turbo) do about 68-70 with about 75lbs more weight, and about 45hp. The 500 fan should make close to 60hp I would imagine.

What do ya think?

I had the 98 sle 500 fan new ( before I got rid of the old lady) and had no prblems getting to 70 -75 mph. Comfy ride with nice options and went pretty good for a 2 up fan. Even with 2 people still got to 65 mph no problem.
