Is there usually ridable snow during christmas?

Have a trip planned for Black Hills around the 26th with a big group

im going up there to(27-31st) i think where staying in lead or deadwood. i hope they have good snow then.

We are looking at going mid December, right after the trails open if they have snow, and then again in early February. We rented a cabin that sleeps 12 for $250 a night. Hope they get lots of snow.

I was thinking of heading out that way in between Christmas and New Years. Hopefully they will have a decent coverage of snow by then...
