This is my first post here... so hello everybody grinning-smiley-023.gif

About 15 years ago I came across an old snowmobile that I used to ride (whenever I could get it to start). The past few seasons I've been renting and going on various tours in the mount snow area when I'm up at my house.

I think it's time to buy something, if I can convince my wife. I did buy a new boat and a new waverunner already this year; so who knows.

I would like to buy something used that's well-known as an easy to maintain, reliable machine. Hand warmers, reverse and two-seats are a must- other than that I really am not picky. I really dont know a lot about the machines other than how to ride them!

Any suggestions as to what I should be looking for in terms of models/years/etc and what they might cost on the open market?

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest looking on any of the big fours websites, They all offer very good riding two up sleds. It all depends on what brand you want. Big cc or small. Four stroke or two stroke!! You get the idea. Hope this helps. buttrock.gif

Two ups or touring sleds are among the hardest to find and they retain their value better than the one ups.
I have a Pantera and absolutely love the sled. Great ride, plenty of get up and go, and overload springs for 2 up riding. The 2002 version I have is fuel injected for trouble free running. The Black Cherry color is gorgeous.
If you want new or nearly new, consider a 4 stroke also. Great mileage, low noise and no injection oil to worry about. The ride will be much the same as the two stroke with a little less get up and go.

Heh... I bought my waverunner while my wife was away on a business trip. She got home and was like "wtf is that in the driveway" ... I played dumb... "Honey, I told you I was going to buy a waverunner."

If I try to do the same thing with a sled I might have to find one with an enclosed trailer so that I can live in it. grinning-smiley-023.gif

i've ridden most of them and the AC. 2ups are the most comfortable. check monkeyads.com for some good used ones. most are in ny near albany. good luck with the sneek purchase.
