O.K., I need your opinions on this.....

I have 48 1.175 Fastrac studs and single square backers leftover from replacing studs on my .91 track. They are the ''recommended'' size for a 1'' track on my ProX 700. I do not think they are long enough.

What I am thinking of doing is putting 96 1.25'' studs with the double angled backers down the middle and put my leftover 1.175's with the singles on the outside?

I have always run studs on the outside and have had no problems with studs tearing out, turning problems etc. so I am not asking whether or not I should stud the outside, I am asking about running the slightly shorter stud to save about $125.

What do you think?

save the 125 and do it... i've never had a problem studding the outside either, go for it...

Why not save the money, use it for another trip this winter. The slightly smaller studs should be fine a 1" track.

Yep the 1.175 length is the size recomended for the 1" track from woody's. Maybe they measure there studs different.

The problem was this: When I installed the 1.075" studs they recommend in my .91 track the length over the lug was about a 1/4 of an inch. With the 1.175" it was a little more than 3/8 inch which is good but not snowcross legal. So I ordered 96 1.25"s from Fastrac. I have never run less than 144 so I thought that the combination of the two would be cheap and effective.
