whats the horsepower of the 2002 zr500 cross country edition?
maceng
The valved 500 motors (not the firecat) make 99 HP indicated in cat's brochure for 2001. They are usually right on with HP ratings and sometimes a bit conservative. Realistically, i think they are just under 100 HP

My sled had a whole new top end (cylinders, valves, piston, rings, etc) 2000 miles ago, and i have v-force reeds, so i feel that i should be at or just above 100HP.
sxviper 1+2=3 cylinders
yeah, the valved ones are right around 100. the non valved ones are around the 80 range i believe.

The NEW 500 wothout valves is 80, the old 500 without valves is about 90-95.
High Octane
02 500 is 97 hp, i think its a lil more tho, more like 100. maybe it's just cause of the EPTS that it has more balls?

This is a sled that if set up properly, will make you very happy.

Mine is v-forced, jetted, and clutched

Also have 96 studs and 8 inch carbides

Haven't been beat by any 500 yet! (i keep avoiding the F-5 confrontation though) lol
