a friend of mine has a 04 prox2 700 , he gets past by xc-sp 700 all the time and was looking where is a good place to start making his sled as fast or little faster than his buddys xc. looking to keep the stock pipe tho.looking at gearing and smaller lug hight track... any help will help. thank you

if he wants a top end monster he bought the wrong sled, the edge skid seems to have less rolling resistance than the pro-x does... gear it a little (24t on top - stock is a 25t), clutch the piss out of it, jet it lean and mean and install an RKT head or maybe an LPI head... if you have time and money send the cylinders out to be ported as well... maybe add a big wheel kit (though it does more on big tracks instead of 121's)... improve your secondary to either a new team tss-04 or a hyperlight, suck in your limiter straps a notch...
edit : mod for mod the pro-x will likely ALWAYS get beat by the XC, however, the pro-x is still a "better" sled for its designed purpose...

The stock springs that come stock in the latest polaris's which are the black/green primary and red/black secondary springs are not causing the clutches to shift out all the way and not letting it go into overdrive, try out a dark blue/white or a almond/blue primary spring, red/dark blue in the secondary, 64 gram weights, we played with my cousins prox 700 clutching and gained a lot of speed from a very similar set up, we could have gotten more but the weights were too light and over revving which is what u dont want on these 700 and 800's. all the parts can be bought at a pol dealer.

it'll pull the stock gearing if hes going to race the races in nome, just gotta work on the clutching and susp that bonz already said, pull the limiter up for better approach angle.

red/black secondary spring
you mean Black/Red... the Red/Black is not the stock secondary spring...
