:frech32: We just bought a used 2000 600 EFI ZL with 1200 miles. Does anyone know what rpm the clutch should engage? This one engages between 4500 & 5000 rpm. I've never had a snowmobile so I don't know if this is normal or if it should go to the shop to be checked out.

The stock spring is a yellow/white spring. If you see this spring, then I would say that it is stock.

I have a 2000 ZL 600 carb model and fealt that the engagement is too harsh at 4200. I recently changed the primary set up to a 2001 ZL 600EFI set-up with Red spring and 0746-592 52 gram wieghts. It resulted in a softer engagement at 3500 rpms. With no snow I can't tell if it adjusted the peak rpm but it should be unchanged based on the 2001 spec (82-8300 rpm).
