Any one have any reviews of the z1 lxr. We are considering maybe picking on up for my dad. He is not that happy with his FST polaris. He is a big guy he doesn't use the power at all so the fst is overkill. He would just like a rider friendly more comfortable chassis. We would consider the sno pro but I feel the shocks are going to be a tad too aggressive for him. He is about 250lbs in full gear. Would love to hear some rider reviews from some of the bigger guys out there on the the Z1's I guess they are about comparable to a 2 stroke 600?

He will be very happy on a Z1 LXR after the FST, at that weight he may need heavy duty rear springs, but there is no way to know for sure without riding it first..

I weigh 230lbs. and have springs on lowest setting, added duallies helped considerably with darting, next year I will shim ski's after reading all the reports. As far as I'm concerned it's been a great sled so far, approaching 1,000 miles and it seems to run stronger every time I go out!

Your dad will love the Z1 LXR. I have a 2010 and now have 1700 miles on it and I love it. I got 94 mph on the lake today perfect hardpack conditions.

Best ride in the industry .I rode them all and nothing even comes close. Mileage is anywhere from 13.6 to 18.9 with the normal being 15.5 .

Darts terrible when you let off the gas still working on that one. I will demo some Simmons skis this weekend and will let you know.

Adjustable seat will help your dad as I let someone who is 6 feet 2 inches ride my sled and he noticed that he was more comfortable than on his sled. I think he will buy one! The heated option helps as well.

I know more so feel free to ask more questions. Hope this helps.

Have you tried the Woody's slim jim carbides? Alot of people say that those will fix darting. I got a set of CnA Razors and they made a big difference but still not perfect. Razors cost close to $400 with carbides. Wish I tried slim jims first.

You guys should try Bergstrom triple points with ski saver shims on the factory skis. I would bet this would take away the darting!

You dad would be very happy with a Z1. I have an 08 Nightfire which I really love. It has the Sno Pro suspension that I do like but have ridden the LXR suspension on an F8 and it is just fine. I ride with all younger guys so I like having it a little more agressive.

As far as power goes, the low end torque is what I love. I can stay with an F8 to about 75 mph which is plenty for me. Does top out at only about 94 but that if enough. Corner to corner grunt is lot of fun.

I am 6'2" and about 250 with gear. You can put the seat down and handlebars back in the sub-zero or raise the seat and push the bars forward for the bumps. It is so much more comfortable than my old ZL600. The 200+ mile days are no problem. I have over 6200 miles on in three seasons and it is still going strong.

I tried the Stud boy duece bars on the 2010 ski it did not dart too much but pushed in the corners .I felt insecure going into the corners hard for this set up. Fast forwrd to the SLP's with the shaper bar railed in the corners but darts terrible. Added shims to the back of the ski rubber and this helped alittle but still not perfect.

After coming off my Firecat which had the SLP's on it railed around corners and did not dart I am spoiled.

Some folks here have said that the Simmons works well for the Z1 platform. I will try those in two weeks to find out. I will post my results

probably not a needed post here, but make sure you check your toe-out settings. You'll want them right at factory toe-out setting.....or slightly more even. This will also help eliminate the darting.............

Anyone put slydog powder hounds on one or even the regular trail hounds? The triple keel design with some bergstrom skegs and shims on them?

Just traded in my 2007 F-1000LXR, stock, hacksaw track & 204 studs. I'm 6' 4" & 250# without gear. No problem with suspension even on the softest setting. Got a 2010 SNO PRO TURBO mainly because I got my doors blown off by a friends 2009 SNO PRO TURBO out on the lake from a dead stop. He's about the same weight. The TURBO LXR has the same suspension as the F-1000, so your dad shouldn't have any problems. I/m 64 yrs. old going on 17!!
