I read that the Pine Rd. Bridge that crosses the Ausable River was washed out effecting the normal trail route between Roscommon and St. Helen. Does anyone have information on planned repair or a new trail route?

Thats actually the email for Houghton Lake Chamber of Commerce. You could also try the Rosco-Higgins Trail Cruisers at trailcruisers@hotmail.com. I just got the newsletter, but didnt see any mention of your concern.

The issue was brought up at the recent DNR Snowmobile Advisory Committee meeting. No word from the Rosc-Higgins club or Chamber of Commerce yet but I will try again.

Sorry, mike, you were correct. Apparently this year the COC started their own club, Houghton Lake Snowmobile Association. They are taking responsibility for the HL trail system, and are working with the Trailblazers and RHTC clubs. Hopefully they can get that west connector in shape...it always sucks!

Also try Jim at jmaiani@iserv.net, he's with the H Lake Trailblazers.

Can give a quick update. The bridge is gone and will be relaced in the spring. Proposals for a reroute have been submitted, one was approved and will be signed in time for the season. I have no idea what the route is.

This from a Trailcruisers member:
"The bridge on Pine Road is OUT. It is on the Trail between Roscommon and St Helen, and the Snowpackers will have to reroute the Trail in that area. I do not know the details of what they are planning to do, but the Bridge will not be repaired until probably next spring. Don Mraz does the Grant Work for the Snowpackers so that is why I am aware of it. I do not think that at this time they have worked out the details, but I am confident that they will come up with something."

Any Snowpackers out there with a route update?
