I aquired 2 1050 Polaris watercraft motors, and felt it would be neat to try to make them work in a sled? buttrock.gif
Last year there was someone who posted on this site who did this conversion. Somthing about using 800twin cases/cylinders and cutting 1 cylinder off and welding them together??? Anyone know anything about this, or know anyone who has done it? dunno.gif
Looking for a fun project.....
Thanks

I've heard of taking the cylinders an installing them on an xcr800 base but not the hole engine because the crankshaft end is different and there is no water pump !!!

It would be to hard, If I were you Id call Art at Engine Tech (905 775 6084) or visit his web site at www.engine-tech.com You would probably be better of selling the motors on a PWC site(I could give you lots of sites) and getting one of Arts Big bore kits! He makes a kit for your sled, a 1075 kit, 215 HP, thats more then you'l get out of a PWC Motor.
PM me if you want some of the sites to sell, I used to race seadoos and still sell a lot of parts on the net..lemme know.

Thanks for all the info. I guess I never really thought about the end of the crank being threaded??? censored.gif Duh...
I thought that using the 2 800 twin cases would solve the waterpump problem???
The owner of the local Polaris dealer said he had a friend who owned another dealer took one of these motors and made a 325hp sled motor with it??? Don't ask me how??? He was going to try to find out details for me.
He sold the motor to a Mountain rider out west?? This was quite a few years back???
Just trying to be different....... dunno.gif
I went to engine-tech.com, and I only saw a 800 kit for my 700??? 140hp??
Maybe I am looking at the wrong thing???

Sorry dude, by your name I thought you had the 800...I see now...but he does do a lot of motors for mountain guys and is getting lots of HP of his in house Dyno...might be worth giving him a call anyways..
Sorry for the confusion.

You use the watercraft case and xc800 cylinders. For the crank you just change the PTO end I think? There are a couple of options for waterpump. My brother has built 3 or 4. His Current one has price cylinders 285hp on the dyno. Dynoguy on snowest.com had that one for sale and a 1225- 245hp motor in the motor section of swapmeet. There is more info there.
